Bi-Fuel 2015 Chevy Impala Coming Soon

HINGHAM, Mass.- This week Chevrolet announced that another vehicle will be joining the automaker's natural gas vehicle line up. A bi-fuel 2015 Chevy Impala is coming soon as part of Chevrolet's effort to place a greater emphasis on natural gas-powered products! The new 2015 Chevy Impala will be available with two fuel choices: gasoline or compressed natural gas.

Similar to the Chevrolet Volt technology, the bi-fuel 2015 Impala will be able to travel on natural gas before seamlessly switching to gasoline. Specifically, the new eco-friendly Impala can travel 150 miles on natural gas and 350 miles on gasoline.

Coming soon, the bi-fuel 2015 Chevy Impala will be available to consumers and fleet buyers next summer. However, the automaker expects fleet buyers to account for most sales of the natural gas Impala, selling about 750-1,000 units in the first year.

Price and fuel economy have not yet been released, but the natural gas Impala will join Chevy's current natural gas vans. The automaker has also mentioned that bi-fuel versions of their 2015 full-size pickups will be coming soon as well.

2014 Chevrolet Impala Seats Designed For Comfort

HINGHAM, Mass.- The redesigned 2014 Chevrolet Impala is just as attractive on the inside as it is on the outside. One of the most notable updates to the sedan are the extremely comfortable seats, which Chevrolet engineers went to great lengths to design. The 2014 Chevrolet Impala Seats were designed for comfort through the use of advanced technology as well as human interaction.

There's no substitute for getting a human into the seat and getting their response. So, Chevrolet had volunteer seat testers, from 5th percentile females (5 feet tall, 100 pounds) to 95th percentile males (6 feet tall, 223 pounds), spend hundreds of hours and thousands of miles in Impala prototypes to evaluate seat comfort. The testers would ride in each prototype for 60-minute intervals, recording their feedback after the first 10 minutes and at the end, numerically rating every aspect: cushion, backrest, lumbar support, headrest, and side bolsters.

However, the feedback of the volunteer testers is subjective, so Chevrolet combined their responses with state-of-the-art pressure-mapping technology as well as the automaker's new mannequin-like tool named Oscar. The high-tech pressure-mapping technology, is composed of more than 4,600 data points from the impressions of people of all shapes and sizes over the seat surface. Graphics can then be illustrated to evaluate how occupants sit statically or while driving.

To make sure that the Impala's comfortable seats are complimented by sufficient interior space, the automaker developed the 170 pound mannequin-like tool named Oscar to determine the overall dimensional layout of the vehicle's interior. With such extensive research, the seats in the 2014 Chevy Impala will leave you feeling just as fresh at the end of your trip as you felt at the start!
